Dear Coyote Families,
This week was so much fun! Our fifth graders played a great kickball game against our staff. It was heartwarming to hear everybody cheer on their teachers and peers. Good game everyone! Our 3rd and 5th graders enjoyed their end of the year field trips to Ardenwood and Larkey Park, respectively.
On Monday, 6/1, please join us for our 3rd annual AHS/Cornell Senior Walk right after the 8:30 bell. At this event we will congratulate our former Coyotes as they are on their way to graduation this Friday. Also next week, our second and first graders will enjoy their end-of-the-year field trip and we have our fifth grade promotion ceremony! I am looking forward to a fabulous last couple of days of school.

Because of the 5th grade promotion ceremony the Cornell Ave north gate will be closed; parents, please pick up your students from Cornell Ave south gate and Talbot Ave gate.
School will resume on Wednesday, August 12, 2026

Weekly Library Spotlight
PAST DUE: All library books were expected to be returned and fines resolved by 5/22/26. Inventory must begin this week. Thank you to everyone who has returned or replaced books. If you have outstanding books and fines, you have now received several notices and it’s essential that you return or pay for materials immediately.

We completed our last Digital Citizenship lessons this week. We also had a good laugh while enjoying Mac Barnett’s The Future Book!
Library Fan Art Poster Contest
The students’ fan art is incredible and remains on display in the hallways and library. Kids’ Choice Awards were tallied and announced this week. Congratulations to everyone who participated!

🌿 Sunday in the Cornell Garden 🌱
Join us Sunday, May 31 from 2-4pm in the school garden! This is the final Sunday in the garden for the school year! Many of the kids have been able to enjoy the garden on Mondays and Fridays thanks to Coach Joel! Visit the garden on May 31 so your kids can show you their favorite spot and all the plants they have cared for over the year. We will also have pumpkin seeds so kids can see how big of a pumpkin they can grow over the summer.

Supporting Albany Education Foundation is as simple as pizza night. Join us Monday, June 1, at Little Star Pizza, where 10% of all dine-in and takeout sales will be donated to AEF. This give-back happens every first Monday of the month—an easy (and delicious) way to support grants for Albany teachers. Mark your calendars for summer First Monday pizza nights at Little Star: July 6 and August 3.
