NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
  Sufficiency of Textbooks and Instructional Materials
     Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.  

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Albany Unified School District Board of Education will hold a public hearing regarding the sufficiency of textbooks and instructional materials.

Pursuant to Education Code section 60119, the Board is required to hold an annual public hearing and adopt a resolution determining whether each student in the District, including English learners, has sufficient standards-aligned textbooks or instructional materials, or both, for use in class and at home. This requirement applies to the following subject areas:

• Reading/language arts

• Mathematics

• Science

• History–social science

“Sufficient textbooks or instructional materials” means, each pupil, including English Learners, has a standards-aligned textbook or instructional materials, or both, to use in class and to take home. This specifically applies to four subject areas: reading/language arts, mathematics, science, and history-social science.

The public hearing provides an opportunity for members of the public to comment on the sufficiency of textbooks or instructional materials in the District.

The hearing will be held during the September 8, 2026, Regular Meeting of the Board of Education. Information relating to this item will be available for public inspection when the meeting agenda is posted on September 3, 2026, at the District Administration Office and on the District website at www.ausdk12.org.
