SPECIAL VACANCY NOTICE
AUSD Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee
In accordance with the Maddy Act (Govt. Code 54970), citizens of Albany are encouraged to apply for the vacancies listed below.
Advisory Body/Committee: AUSD Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee
Purpose: Albany Unified School District established a Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) for oversight of its bond measures. The purpose of the CBOC is to inform the public concerning the expenditure of bond revenues, actively review and report on the proper expenditure of taxpayers' money for school construction, and advise the public as to whether the district is in compliance.
Composition: The CBOC shall be composed of at least nine (9) members, who shall serve for a minimum of two years without compensation, and for no more than three consecutive terms. The committee must include the following members:
- 1 - Active member of a business organization representing the business community located within the district (VACANT)
- 1 - Active member in a senior citizens’ organization (VACANT)
- 1 - Active member in a bona fide taxpayer’s organization (NOT VACANT)
- 1 - Parent/ guardian of a child enrolled in the district (VACANT)
- 1 - Parent/guardian of a child enrolled in the district and active in a parent-teacher organization, such as Parent Teacher Association or School Site Council (VACANT)
- 4 - “Public at large” community member (3 VACANT)
Meeting Schedule: Meetings will be held quarterly. Consistent attendance is necessary and non-student members must agree to serve for a two-year term. Meetings will be held in person, typically at the District Office (1216 Solano).

Submit the online application form (https://forms.gle/82W3nWcNtj2dh4iGA) no later than Monday, February 3, 2025 at 12:00 noon. Applications will be taken to the Board of Education for their consideration beginning February 11, 2025. All appointments are made by the Board of Education.
