International Walk & Roll to School Day

Wednesday, October 9, is International Walk & Roll To School Day. One of the special things about Albany is that it is possible for many students to use “active transportation”, that is, modes of transportation that are human-powered, to get to school. Active transportation is good for students as it provides them with healthy exercise, and it is a great transition from the home environment into the school day. It’s good for the environment and it helps reduce car traffic around the schools. If you/your student are able, please consider walking or rolling to school on October 9. Some schools will be tallying results to see all of the different modes of transportation their students have used to get to school.
